Metal Roof Panels for the Caribbean: How Shipping From Miami Works

RoofingEX supplies metal roof panels and full roof packages to contractors, builders and owners across the Caribbean. We have shipped standing seam, nail strip and PBR panels, matching trim and complete roof packages to jobs in the Bahamas (our most frequent destination), the Dominican Republic, the U.S. Virgin Islands and St. Lucia. Here is how an order works, from takeoff to Tropical Shipping in Miami.

How it works

  1. Send your takeoff. Email panel lengths and quantities, profile, color and job address to sales@roofingex.com, or send roof plans and we will prepare the takeoff.
  2. Get a quote. Pricing and production lead time.
  3. We make it to length. Every panel is roll-formed in our Miami facility and cut to the lengths on your takeoff, with trim and flashing from the same coil and color. Typical production lead time is 24 to 48 hours.
  4. We hand it to Tropical Shipping. We hand the order to Tropical Shipping in Miami, and they ship it to the island.

There is no minimum order.

What we ship

  • Panels: standing seam, nail strip and PBR, in all colors.
  • Trim and flashing: drip edge, ridge, valley, rake and wall flashing to match the panels.
  • Full roof packages: panels, trim, clips, fasteners and underlayment, so the crew on the island has everything for the roof in one order.

Why order cut-to-length panels from Miami

Panels made to your measurements mean less waste and fewer field cuts, which matters when replacing a short panel means another shipment. A full package from one supplier also means the trim, clips and fasteners match the panel system. Our REM 1.5 standing seam was tested by Intertek to 307 psf of wind uplift and carries a UL Class A fire and Class 4 impact rating (UL file R40985). It also holds Miami-Dade County, Florida NOA 22-1208.01, exp. 04/13/2028, Miami-Dade County’s product approval for roofs in its High-Velocity Hurricane Zone.

Paperwork for your building authority

Each island has its own building rules. With every order we can provide the NOA for the panel system and the supporting technical documents, such as installation details, the fastener schedule, and color and coating data. Check with your local building authority which documents it needs, and check import requirements and duties for the destination country.
